Looking at Language in the LGBTQ Community
This workshop will focus on common terms used in the LGBTQ Community, and on improving participants' understanding of LGBTQ identified individuals. Who Should Attend: All volunteers who are interested in learning more about the LGBTQ Community.
This event will be led by two Providence Village Volunteers, Linda Ciolfi and Gary Moroch.
Linda Ciolfi is a retired Clinical Social Worker who was employed in the mental health field for 40 years. Her clinical experience involved working in various agencies and ultimately in private practice for 16 years, in which she specialized in seeing folks from the LGBTQ Community. She also has provided trainings on this topic for the last several years and is a member of the LGBTQ Community.
Gary Moroch has resided in Providence for 40 years and retired as an educator and counselor in Providence Schools. Upon completion of extensive training with Rhode Island Project Aids Gary devoted years of volunteer work during the HIV/AIDS epidemic working with gay men infected with the virus supporting any/all their survival needs. Gary remains active as a public speaker addressing comprehensive LGBTQ issues within the community and in schools.
