About this event
TVC Book Club
This month the TVC Book Club discusses "Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant" by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anne Tyler, which she considers her best work. Tyler's novel follows the lives of three siblings: Cody, Ezra, and Jenny, and explores their experiences and recollections of growing up with their mother, Pearl, after the family is deserted by their father, Beck. The novel ends with Pearl's funeral, and examines how siblings may share the same events yet experience them differently.
Anne Tyler (b.1941) is an American novelist, short story writer, and literary critic. She has published twenty-four novels and has been compared to John Updike, Jane Austen, and Eudora Welty.
